Are you wondering what the Newmarket 300 Committee is planning for our 2027 anniversary events? For the past two years we have met to create events and ideas that will ensure our town has the best year of celebrations. Everything from our Opening Ceremony in December 2026 through to our closing in December 2027 will be a celebration of Newmarket’s past, present and future. Some sneak previews: Mural unveilings, living history activities, special music written specifically for our town, parades and even two delicious craft beers made for our celebrations!
We are collaborating with Arts, Culture and Tourism on two exciting events (check our
calendar) this year and next.
Are you interested in working with our committee? Our event teams could use some help over the next year and a half. Some examples include helping with set up and working events, break down, crowd mingling and assistance. We would also appreciate any help with approaching groups who might be interested in creating a 300th event: some ideas include working with a neighborhood association, and groups like your local book club, bowling team, etc. Volunteering your time and talents would bring more community awareness to our 300th committee and events, and there is no pressure to commit upfront, simply choose a date/time that works for you and let us know!
We currently have several board openings, and I would love to see new faces join us. We are especially looking for input on family centered activities, where our youth can become involved in celebrations.
